Located in downtown Norman, Oklahoma, the Art Therapy Center was established
in 1990 by Joan Phillips and Debbie Simms, both local art therapists. Debbie has gone on to work for the Oklahoma Arts
Council and Joan continues to provide art therapy at this center as well as being faculty at the University of Oklahoma in
the Department of Human Relations and School of Art.
The Art Therapy
Center is a private practice of art therapy, counseling, and marital and family therapy. The Center
also provides clinical supervision for those individuals training to become art therapists, counselors or marriage
and family therapists. Trainings and workshops are held for professionals seeking continuing education in a variety of areas.

Please note: While all the therapists
providing services at Art Therapy Center are trained in art therapy, we utilize a blending of many disciplines including counseling,
psychotherapy, marriage and family therapy, and play therapy among others. We work with you
to establish the method that will be most beneficial to you. No art skill or background,
or even interest, is necessary to utilize art therapy. |
